Jose Gumbau Vidal (Spanish ,1907-1989 ) Original Oil Painting Signed Paris
He studied at the San Carlos School of Fine Arts and at 17 years’ old he went to Paris, where he lived continuously for sixteen years before moving to Marseilles, but without forgetting his links with his homeland, which he visited frequently. He belonged to the generation of Valencian artists of the 30’s which broke away from the local traditions. He was a versatile artist who cultivated painting (a major part of it being mural painting), drawing, photography and even literature.
Signed upper right. Framed. Measurements: It is approximately: 11 3/4" x 5 5/8" ( 30 cm x 14,5 cm), 22 1/4" x 16 1/4" (57 cm x 42 cm) framed.
