[SEDIMENT FILTER ROLE] Whole house sediment filter cartridges are able to remove only suspended solids (sand, rust, silt, dirt). Being not so tight as equally sized other types, home sediment water filters are not meant for heavy metals, dissolved  solids or chemicals. But it is due to their porosity the ones provide high flow and so don't limit the water consumption. Pre-filtration is their main role. They protect next filters from debris and keep them functional for a longer period of time.

[HIGH QUALITY OF SEDIMENT CARTRIDGE] The 4.5" x 10" sediment water filter provides a 5 zone filtration. Having a larger micron, outer layers catch bigger particles than inner ones do. Consequently, the water quality grows and the life of cartridge is increased (two or three times a year, 10,000 gallons). The 10" big blue sediment filter 5 micron is made of 100% melt-blown pure polypropylene. There are no binders, agents, solvents, antistatic materials or wetting agents in it.

[HOUSING] The 10 inch sediment water filter housing is manufactured from durable polypropylene to withstand heavy pressures and high temperatures. An opaque sump features the same material reinforced for chemical resistance. The black cap constructed of high flow polypropylene for a sturdy hold. The 1-stage whole house water filtration system is NSF approved and fits FDA standard. It is designed for whole houses with 1-inch plumbing to ensure high water flow.
