WW2 British Paratrooper Helmet

Description

Impressive reproductions of the MkI Helmet used by British Paratroopers during WW2.

The early British Paratrooper Helmets were first introduced in 1942, firstly with the P Type Helmet and the 'helmet, steel, airborne troops'. Our repros feature the familiar steel shell with a fine texturing effect, adding to the authentic look and feel of the helmet. The rim of the helmet is also made from one piece of steel, as per the originals.

The helmet also comes with a quality liner made from a thick leather. The inside of the liner is stamped with the size within a shield, flanked by a 1942 date chosen to suit the mid war use of the helmet. The BMB at the top of the stamp denotes Briggs Motor Bodies Ltd of Dagenham, who made helmets for the British Military until 1943. As part of the leather liner there is a chin strap for keeping the helmet secure, and the helmets also come with small helmet pad which would have been glued to the inside of the helmet for a little bit of comfort!

These helmets were designed to be worn when jumping out of a plane, and so had a tight fit to make sure they don't come off. If your helmet doesn't sit neatly when you put it straight on, you can adjust it by unscrewing the liner and putting the screw back through a different hole like you would a belt.
