Professional stainless steel Selma splicing fids
As a professional Rigger I want neat, tight, quick splicing and this is the make that I use.
With the polished stainless finish it goes through rope outer casings etc with relative ease.
What size do I need?
We recommend that you buy a size around 2mm smaller than the overall size of the rope,
if there is not a fid exactly 2mm smaller, then go slightly smaller rather than bigger.
Rule of thumb is that the fid will have to fit inside the outer casing.
occasionally spray your fids with dry silicone to keep them nice and slippery
