This beautiful one-of-a-kind 1960's Prayer rug makes it's way from the Nigde region in Cappadocia. Prayer rugs were often unique to the villages in which they were made. Individual patterns and motifs were created by the weavers and contained designs related to the tribe. This stunning beauty features a crimson mihrab surrounded by many motifs that beg to be deciphered. This rug features an extremely dense, tightly woven wool pile that is great for high traffic areas. Natural dyes and colors include: indigo, crimson, creamy yellow, olive, and more.

This hand made rug is made of non-shedding hand spun wool making it easy to clean, and making it incredibly soft to walk and lounge on. This densely woven wool rug contains natural oils called lanolin that naturally resist dirt and grime, therefore allowing it to look cleaner for much longer than synthetic rugs. Regular vacuuming will remove any dirt and grime, and allow you to enjoy your rug for many decades.
