These connectors are designed to work with female 6-pin EPS connectors, however they will interface with PCI-E female connectors also.

These are perfect for extension cables from your PSU to your graphics card or other 6-pin cable when the standard length cable is too short (paired with female on the other side), or when you want to make a custom colored/sleeved cable.

Male/Female is determined by which pins go inside the connector. In this case, male pins are used, so the connector is termed male.
