BAD BOY Youth Gi Belts are made to traditional specifications; consisting of a colored layer of cotton wrapped around a variable number of filler layers and stitched together for durability. They feature a black patch for stripes to be awarded.
The cotton belt is worn over the Gi, both to keep the jacket closed, and as a signifier to indicate rank. Jiu Jitsu belts can be used in many attacking and defending techniques during grappling which is why it’s important to have a high quality, durable belt such as this one from BAD BOY. As with most cotton products, a cotton Gi must be washed in cold water and line dried to avoid shrinkage.
The color of your belt, and the number of stripes you have, represent your level of experience within the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. While most instructors will provide you with a new belt at the time of the grading, if you train any more than twice a week you would be wise to invest in an additional belt or two.
