Up for your consideration is a Gently Used, Vintage / Antique, "1899 GESCHICHTEN UND MARCHEN" - CLOTH HARDCOVER BOOK Written By LILLIAN FOSTER! She dedicated the book to: The Pupils of Adelphi Academy. Copyright 1899 By D. C. Heath & Co. Measures approx. 4 5/8" Wide x 6 3/4" Tall. It has a Total of 103 Pages. Very Rare and Hard to Find!

The Preface Reads: "This little volume has been prepared as a first textbook for young pupils who have previously acquired through oral instruction a vocabulary of ordinary words and phrases. To insure intelligent and satisfactory recitations, exercises on the blackboard are invaluable. During a lesson, every word which is new to the pupils should be written on the board. It's pronunciation and its meaning should be made plain. If every member of the class be required to write such words and their definitions on slips of paper, each child will have made its own vocabulary when the end of the book has been reached. The slips can be preserved for future references. Experience has shown that children can much more readily learn to read a foreign language, if it is presented to them at first in a form with which they are familiar. The earlier part of this book has therefore been printed in Latin characters, while the German type has been used for the second part; but, if desired, copies of a special edition all in German type may be obtained."

This book is Overall in Awesome Condition for its age!! Looks to be unread! Both the front and the back cover of the book are in Terrific condition, with minor storage wear present. The Spine and Binding are in tact & tight. The Pages are in Good Condition, with No missing pages or writing! Besides writing on the cover page that reads: "Thelma Clark A. 25" There are some bends and tears found. Very good condition overall, I just wanted to be as detailed as possible!
