High quality buckles simply squeeze to open an push together to snap shut. These have a ladderlock function on one side and loop on the other.

To ensure correct buckle size, buckles are measured by the width of material that fits through them. For an example if you have 20mm webbing you will need a 20mm buckle. Buckle Size = Webbing Width.  Buckles do not interchange with different manufacturers buckles so you will most likely need to replace both sides if trying to repair one side of a buckle.

The buckles have a flat profile with adjustable ladderlock function on one end and loop on the other.
