The crossbar  is 30 inches long (but the boat it supports can be much wider).  Note recent minor design changes not reflected in some pictures and videos:  The handle  (tongue) is one-piece, 18 inches long.  The cart does not come apart in the middle.  The bunks (support pads) are mounted by bolts in slots rather than clamping on.
