Always wanting to show off how 'modern' he is Diesel has been known to cause a fair bit of bother around Sodor, however he's also able to be a 'useful engine' when he stops trying to show off and instead just helps out. In this set Diesel comes with a simple circular piece of track, the whole set (including train) can be clicked together for easy portability. The 'Take n Play' Thomas range is made up of durable die-cast engines and plastic track, please note it is NOT COMPATIBLE WITH ANY WOODEN RAILWAY SYSTEMS (or with with Hornby Thomas the Tank Engine, Trackmaster Thomas, or with Mega Bloks Thomas). Though if you still have any of the 'Take Along Thomas' range (or if you've picked up some through hand-me-downs etc.) the take n play engines etc. are compatible.

All you have to do is load three train parts into the hopper and load the chassis onto the platform. Pull the handle to raise the chassis up to the assembly line, then press the plunger three times and then watch as your new engine advances down the assembly line as the hoppers drop parts onto the chassis! A final pull of the handle lowers the press and snaps all the parts firmly onto the chassis, making your engine ready for a new adventure. You can give your engine that extra special touch by snapping on accessories to fully customise your train.
