Description

Rare set of 7 Cortendorf, Drolly 1940s Kitten figurines.

These are so cute and are so very rare I only found a pamphlet on the Internet where you could have ordered them in 1940(see the link at the bottom of this page). 3 of them are playing musical instruments, a guitar, french horn, and a saxophone. They are girls and boys. The girls have skirts and boys all have shirts, bow ties and pants. There is great detail on these cats and they are all hand painted.
They all have their original tags tied around their necks except one. One side of the tag says Cortendorf and the other side all say Drolly and each one is named. The names are Hopsi, Topsi, Fritzi, Muschi, Mienz and Fips. One label is missing. They are all marked on the bottom. 3 have the Cortendorf mark and Made in Western Germany. 2 are marked West Germany and one says Foreign(this one is missing the tag). There is glue reside on the bottom probably from the price tags. This will come right off with a little water or if you want I can do it for you.
All are in excellent condition with no issues. No chips, cracks or repairs.
They measure between 3 1/2" and 4" tall.

I also have listed on eBay a Cortendorf dog with the same adorable look.

Here is the link for the 1940 pamphlet of these kitten on eBay for only $9.95.
