This is one of the NØRSK watches designed for the medal winning athletes from Norway in the Olympics. (second lot)
This Auction is for the orange faced watch (bronze medal)
The design begins in homage to the most rugged diver of all - the Seiko Monster - and makes changes to "polish" it and create a dressier appeal - as this design is titled - "The Champion in Repose". To be worn during the celebration. (see note from owner’s manual below).
Note the -
1. High polish bezel & case
2. Thinner markings on bezel
3. Dressier hands
4. Smooth bezel edges rather than jagged
5. Precision quartz movement
6. Bezel smaller than case.
There are other minor differences - all designed to create a more elegant and less rugged appeal. But when it's done you still have what I consider one awesome polished beast. (Seiko corporate has been shown the watch and has no issues with it.)

NØRSK began in 2006 when Norwegian designer Brian Undlin was granted the privilege by the Olympic Committee of presenting his watch design to the medal winners of the winter olympics (where Norway shines brightest) in Torino.

The watch comes with a certificate naming the member of Norway's Olympic committee who authorized the watches to be presented to the medal winning athletes. A Total of 17 watches were sent to the London medal winners via the following federations. Cycling (1) Fencing (1) Handball (14) Paddling (1)
I understand some people's skepticism concerning the "Olympic" claim - because of this I have been reported to Ebay MANY times and even the FBI. But the reason the ad and the claim remain - is because it is true. Please understand that although I received verification from the Olympic committee that the watches would be given to the athletes, they were sent as presents. I am not representing that the Olympic committee commissioned me to have these made and then presented them as the "official Olympic watch of Norway"

Although this design is decidedly a Men's design it was decided after feedback from the 2006 batch (the Women preferred the Men's design) to present the same watch to both male and female medal winners in 2012
