ULTRA RARE BUNDLE FEATURING VHS SPECIAL SCREENER
Up for sale is a complete bundle of Lone Star VHS tapes and the Lone Star laserdisc release. The four items offered in this listing comprise the entire "Skull And Badge" original release to the U.S. home market.
Each item is brand new and factory sealed.
This bundle features the ultra rare Special Screener edition! You will not come across too many of these - especially brand new! A limited number of screener editions were distributed to video stores, and the idea is that the stores could evaluate the film and then make further decisions regarding inventory.
I have never seen the Special Screener edition of this film, and in fact this is the only copy I have ever personally come across. Please note that screener editions were intentionally crippled in various ways to deter re-sale. For instance, the video might periodically switch to black-and-white for 30 seconds, and then revert back to color.
Besides general knowledge, the back of the screener edition also serves to verify that this bundle is indeed a perfect collection. It lists the laserdisc and the two other VHS tapes as the only original U.S. home market releases.
The stamps on the factory plastic for the three VHS tapes are all different, and chronicle the change in ownership of Castle Rock Entertainment during Lone Star's release. This in itself is fairly rare.
All plastic factory seals are close to perfect, with a limited number of tiny tears in the plastic. The VHS covers are near mint, or approaching near mint. The laserdisc jacket has a few small and subtle creases as well as slight ringwear - both of which are not that surprising for a 2-disc release.
