Well, sometimes words DO actually fail to convey an idea or a thing. And so it is with this meter - a normal yellow model 27 Fluke. Certainly a fully competent and high quality example of the meters from Fluke, but it IS more than that. If you were around when this meter was just introduced, and were able to buy one of the yellow models, the meter you had back then would essentially be the same as this one, except this one hasn't been banged around in the bottom of your tool bag or wherever. Condition is close enough to new to make it a really tough call. It's a meter with no flaws to speak of, pretty much no matter how bleedin' fussy you are.

But because sometimes looks can be deceiving, this meter has been tested with accurate AC and DC voltage sources, as well as a variety of high accuracy resistance sources. Continuity display and beeper have also been exercised along with the 'special function' buttons on the top. Everything measures just fine, and works that way, too. In practical terms, you could consider it to be a new meter, right out of the box, except that it's not. When new, the meter was spec'd at a max count of 3200 (the 200 is the 1/5th digit), and was generally specified overall with .1% accuracy, plus or minus 1 on the LSD.

The EXTRAS:

1. With this meter comes a very-good-condition set of genuine Fluke safety-shrouded probes for regular measurements.

2. Also included is a pair of Fluke hooded alligator clips made for the Fluke leads. They're differently shrouded, but still appropriately safe.

3. The final extra is a Fluke 80T-6 high voltage probe good for up to 6KV. It also properly measures regular AC mains voltage accurately. Not exactly HV, but I don't have any HV sources to use for testing.

SAFETY NOTE !!! The 80T-6 uses an un-shrouded Pomona dual banana plug bonded to a length of coax that plugs directly into the meter, plus a small, hooded, gold-plated Mueller alligator clip on the end of a normally insulated wire that also extends from the non-business end of the probe. The Mueller clip is intended to be connected to earth ground. This is therefore a probe that MUST be used with the utmost care and attention to proper handling and grounding.

And that's it. Fluke meter, Fluke leads, Fluke clips, and a Fluke HV probe. All of it is in excellent, like-new shape and is just like in the pictures. The pictures really are representative of what you're getting, but even if you don't trust the pix, you can always email me with questions.

This is a great collection of measurement tools, the sum of which is substantially greater than the opening bid. And just because there aren't any more CRTs you your house, don't imagine that you'll never have need for an HV probe. You know you've been fooled by THAT kind of thinking before.
