You are looking at an extremely rare and discontinued set. LEGO have not released any RC cars since 2009, this being the last set together with 8184 Twin X-treme.

Please note that this set no longer comes with a box.

I have opened it in early 2010 with the intention to built but work demands distracted me and all parts were put in a sealed plastic container pending free time. That free time never came and the sealed container was left in a corner of my Store room and forgotten ever since until I did a stock take on Jan 2013 and realised that this gem of a LEGO was still sitting there...waiting.

As this is an opened set, please read the details below carefully to avoid any misunderstanding.

Year released: 2009

Parts: 92 pcs

Minifigs: None

Box Condition: No Box.

Lego brick parts: Loose and in Ziploc bag (All parts accounted for based on inventory listing at back of instruction manual)

Sticker sheet: Intact, good condition and unused

9V Remote Control Unit: Factory-sealed in LEGO's clear plastic bag

Motor RC with steering mechanism and receiving unit: Factory-sealed in LEGO's cardboard insert.

* As the Remote Control Unit and Motor Receiving Unit (MRU) are still sealed, I will consider this set essentially new as these 2 items alone basically contribute 95% of its worth to the set. The low part count only takes up a small ziploc bag and appears almost inconsequential. Nevertheless, the parts itself have not even been used since I never got to built it in the first place.

There is an interesting review done by Pinpapollo on this set in youtube. Take a look to understand this set better.

Below picture of the Motor Receiving Unit (MRU) is taken from Bricklink. You can see that the MRU Block comes as a full built-in assembly with many studs and allows you to customize any design of car that you wish if you have the creative juice and the parts for it. As such, you are not necessarily restricted to the parts and design provided in this default set.

As this set is opened and involve electrical/mechanical parts, it becomes tricky to sell compared to other static lego sets. Of course, I can break up the seals, test the set and put a remark that I used it only once to ensure that all is in working order before putting it up for sale... But if you don't know me personally, are you going to believe that it has been used only "Once" as I have proclaimed. I think not.

Therefore, to the Buyer who is interested in this set, this is how I plan to deal.

I will bring along a blade, a new & sealed pack of Energizer AAA Batteries (6pcs). During the meet up, I will cut open the seals of the RC & MRU unit in your presence and put the batteries in. After that, we can test it on the spot to ensure all is OK.

If it works, you pay for the set and the transaction closes. Batteries will be complimentary for you. If not, I will take the set back and you don't need to pay anything. Of course, I don't think the latter is going to happen given LEGO's reputable quality... but just in case, buyer may have to be mentally prepared to go home with nothing in the worse case scenerio.

Why am I doing this?... you may ask...

Firstly, I am doing this to ensure your satisfaction that the core components, ie,  motor and controller are both new, unused and have never been played even once before. As such, there is 100% no wear and tear to the mechanical/electrical parts.

Secondly, having proven that the motor and controller are new, I would have logically proven that the brick parts in the ziploc bag would be equally new. Afterall, what use would the parts be if I have no access to the motor and controller in the first place. Furthermore, the stickers have not been applied.

Thirdly, I would have proven that the only issue about this set is really just the... missing box.

Important Note: I am selling this set only to the open-minded, patient and forgiving. If you feel you are not up to it, ie, you don't have the time to wait through this test, unable to accept a negative outcome, easily irritated and angered, please avoid this purchase at all cost.

If you accept this offer, you are deemed to have accepted all consequences leading up to the sale however favourable or unfavourable the outcome of the transaction is.

Let these conditions all be clear between us so that we can deal adult-to-adult at arms length during the meet-up session as my intention is for both sides to go home happy.

IMPORTANT 2

Buyer is to allow me at least 1 day advance notice after making the purchase, for me to pick up the items from my Store and to fix a date, and also having taken into consideration other meet up commitments that I may have already fixed with earlier Buyers.

Example: If you hit the “Buy It Now” on Monday, I will need to use Tuesday to pick the item from my Store. That leaves only Wednesday for meet up. However, if I am already committed to a full schedule on Wednesday, then there is a possibility that the next meet up with you can only take place on the following Mon, Tue or Wed which might leave some buyers flustered. So please plan & make your purchase decision around Thurs, Fri, Sat or Sun so that you can have more leeway to arrange a meet up on Mon, Tue & Wed to collect your items.

IMPORTANT 3

I can never stress enough the need for 2-way communication as a condition in a purchase transaction as it keeps getting ignored time and again leading to unnecessary misunderstanding and emotional escalation.

Buyers are strongly advised to clarify all doubts/enquiries via my ebay Q&A interface or through my ebay email provided therein pertaining to item contents, packaging quality, meet up arrangements and payment issues BEFORE pressing the “Buy It Now” so as to avoid frustration, disappointment and misunderstanding when I exert compliance to the terms & conditions stipulated in my listing once the “Buy it Now” is pressed.

Hitting the “Buy-It-Now” means that you have read, fully understood and more importantly, agreed to deal under the terms and conditions encompassed in this listing and shall abide by it.

If you have made it this far, thank you for your understanding and taking the time in going through my listing.

Happy shopping!
