PANEL BY WILLIAM COOK 15WC2 |

Dimensions: Length: 18 Inches, Height: 18 Inches, Depth: 1 3/4 Inches |

Kwakwaka'wakw First Nations artist William Cook created with piece from traditional red cedar. PLEASE NOTE: There is damage along one the left edge of the panel (see picture). A unique process was utilized to make the piece; rubber is placed over the wood onto which William draws the design, he cuts out the design with an X-Acto Knife, the wood is then sandblasted, the rubber covering is removed and the piece is painted by hand. The sad-blasting removes the softer wood between the tree rings, giving the panel a unique texture. William has signed the back of the panel and I will provide a copy of the artist’s biography to the winner of this auction. Freight: Canada $20.00, United States $30.00, International $65.00.

SUN The world once lay in complete
and utter darkness until Raven, through his trickery, stole the sun from
a powerful chief. Raven tossed the sun into the sky, giving the world
the gift of light.
