An original, copperplate engraved map of HEREFORDSHIRE by Pieter Van den Keere. First published by George Humble in 1627 and known popularly as 'miniature Speeds', there were several editions up to 1676.  The map is framed (220x185mm) and mounted, with a printed area measuring125x85mm. It is also double glazed, with English text verso (a historico-geographical description of Herefordshire) and hand coloured. The map, which shows in miniature, and in some detail, the county's rivers, hills and settlements, is in excellent condition.
