My father was a friend of Mark Severin and had a bookplate designed by him for his daphnis & Chloe collection of books in 1974 no 289.My father James Ley Wilson was president of the English bookplate society and had a fine collection of mark Severin bookplates.I am also a keen collector of bookplates and Mark Severin is my favourite artist for ex libris so have a good collection of his plates myself. As I inherited my father's collection I now have quite a few duplicates so will be listing many of them on Ebay in the coming months.About 20 years ago I travelled to Belgium with my father to meet Mark Severin's son Geoffrey and purchased some of his father's bookplates. The purchases included a couple of original drawings which I will probably be listing on ebay in the coming months so if you are a collector of this wonderful artist - keep looking here.
