This exquisite carving of Hindu god Ganesha is skillfully handcrafted by local artisans in Tamil Nadu, South India. 


The piece has a beautiful multicoloured finish.The painting scheme is adopted from the bright colors used in South Indian temples. The temples are known for their large gopurams or towers that rise up into the sky decorated with various gods and goddesses.  The gopurams are painted in vibrant colors which mirror the vibrant life of south India.


Ganesha (also known as the elephant god) is a considered to be a remover of obstacles and a symbol of good luck and wisdom.
