This auction is for the pictured set of 4 scale decorative Traxxas Bigfoot Monster Truck Decorative Firestone Tire Decals Printed 2.2" size. These were a custom order. They are printed on extremely high tack vinyl and then sprayed with a uv resistant matte finish clear coat. These were designed specifically for that tire size (2.2" outer wheel diameter) on that truck, however these may fit other tires but that would be up to the buyers discretion. These are intended for decorative purposes only and should be considered temporary, and may come off if driven on. Also note that these are not just simple peel and stick decals, they require a skilled hand and proper surface preparation for installation. An experienced modeler should have no problems but a novice may find them difficult to apply. The tire surface should be cleaned to remove any solvents or other contaminants the might hinder decal adhesion (see pics for directions). Acetone, finger nail polish remover, or alcohol are recommended. It may take one of those or a combination of them. If they do not stick, the surface was not preped correctly. It may take several cleanings to get the tire ready. This includes new tires as well, just because they are new does not mean they are clean. Please be sure you know what you are doing before you buy. Please note that these are single color decals machine cut from high quality vinyl. They will come as shown on a single sheet with application tape over the decals. There are eight decals per sheet so enough to do each tire twice, or 2 decals on each tire.

Vinyl Decal Application Instructions - PLEASE READ COMPLETELY.
(if you need more information please Google "vinyl decal application" or search YouTube for related videos.)

Each decal come as three pieces (unless otherwise specified)
1. The top layer is the application tape or pre-mask. It looks somewhat like regular masking tape or clear tape and is used to transfer the decal from the paper backing to the flat clean surface of your choice. It is also to protect you decal as you apply.
2. The middle layer is the actual vinyl decal and it should come up with your transfer tape when your ready to apply.
3. The bottom layer is called the paper backing. The bottom layer is a backing paper with a waxy surface. These decals come to you all together in three layers ready to install. All surfaces should be clean & dry before decal installation.

*Cleaning Procedures: All surfaces are contaminated to some degree. To ensure good adhesion to any vehicle surface it is critical that you follow these recommended procedures in decontaminating and preparing the surface prior to any vinyl product installation. Wash and rinse the area with liquid dish detergent and warm water. Then dry the surface with a clean, lint-free towel or cloth. Finish up the cleaning process by wiping down the entire area with Isopropyl Alcohol (rubbing alcohol). To avoid recontamination during the final cleaning step, wipe the surface in just one direction, using a clean, lint-free towel or cloth. You are now ready to apply the vinyl.

*Temperature Recommendations: Surface temperatures MUST be between 50 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit before attempting the installation. As a general rule, if the surface is hot to the touch it's over 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Adhesive becomes brittle when it gets too cold and gummy when it gets too hot. Applications outside the recommended range of 50 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit reduce the adhesives' ability to perform. IF YOU DO SO IT IS AT YOUR OWN RISK AND WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE!!

Application Procedures: You can choose to apply vinyl in one of two ways; dry or wet. Applying vinyl dry does not allow for any mistakes, and recommended for smaller decals. Once the vinyl touches the surface, there is no removal without damage. We suggest that customers use the wet process ONLY for larger decals that do NOT have clear application tape. Check YouTube for videos on how to do this. You can make your own application fluid with 4 drops of dishwashing liquid (dawn, joy, or baby shampoo etc.) to 1 quart of water in a spray bottle.

Decal Installation Procedure:
1. Clean surface that decal will be allied to as instructed above in Cleaning Procedures section.
2. Lay the decal face down on a smooth hard surface and rube firmly with a squeegee or something similar. This is to insure the decal sticks to the application  tape. Application tape has low tack temporary adhesive that is meant to come off easily so it can come unstuck from the decal while being stored. While decal is face down lightly begin to peel up a corner of the backing paper to inspect the decal to insure that it is sticking to the application tape properly. If some of it is still stuck to the backing paper press it  back together and rube again firmly until decal sticks to transfer tape. Excessive cold or hot weather may hinder this.
3. Measure where you want you decal to be applied. Then tape in place on 1 side only using regular masking tape. Use the tape as a hinge. Place your tape on the top, bottom or either side, however you feel more comfortable.
4. SLOWLY Peel the bottom WAXY PAPER LINER layer away from the decal and tape starting at the opposite side of the masking taped hinge, and remove it. Be sure all of the decal is on the transfer tape before completely removing the backing paper.
5. While still holding the tape layer away from the smooth surface, use a squeegee, credit card or any plastic straight edge to help in application. Start from the side with the tape and gently work away from the tape. (Note: if you do not have a squeegee use your fingertips or the sharp edge of a credit card, plastic ruler or similar object). Once it is completely applied firmly rube over the enter decal several times to insure adhesion.
6. Now your ready to pull off your application tape layer and view your decal. Gently pull it off at less than a 90 degree angle, preferably flat and as close to the surface as possible. If you see some vinyl start to come up with the application tape then lay it back down, squeegee, and try again. Prick any air bubbles with a pin and rub down. Be sure that outer edges of decal are rubbed down smoothly. This is essential for proper adhesion.

DECAL REMOVAL
Begin by heating one corner of the DECAL with a blow dryer, heat lamp, hot water or heat gun until hot to the touch. Pick up an lift that area you just heated (use a razor only on glass surfaces). Slowly begin pulling back the decal, at less than a 90 degree angle. Continue applying heat to the area just before the area that is being removed. Once you have removed the marking, check to make sure that all of the adhesive residue has been removed. Remaining residue may be removed by using Isopropyl Alcohol (rubbing alcohol).
