Hello and welcome! For your consideration, I am proud to offer a 1986-S Proof Silver American Eagle Coin (PR-69 PCGS) sealed inside a clear capsule within the original burgundy velvet box. The U.S. Mint certificate of authenticity is also enclosed within the hinged box. The original outer, cardboard storage box is also included. The coin is in excellent condition.
THE HISTORY OF 1986-S 1 OZ SILVER AMERICAN EAGLE COIN:
The first American Eagle Silver coin was struck in San Francisco on October 29, 1986. The design on the 1986 1 oz Silver American Eagle obverse was taken from the “Walking Liberty” design by Adolph A. Weinman. The design on these Silver coins was originally seen on the Walking Liberty Half Dollar coin, which was minted between 1916 and 1947. Of the many designs on U.S. Silver coins, the Walking Liberty has been a longstanding public favorite, and as such, was brought back 70 years after its debut for use on the modern Silver Eagle coin.
