The Stein Mini Cassette Lockring Remover Tool is designed to take along when touring for the situations when you break a spoke out away from a bike shop. No longer do you need to take a wrench and chain whip touring! This one ounce tool is installed into the lockring of Shimano or SRAM cassettes lets your confidentially remove cassettes using only a 4 mm allen wrench. The tool is best used in a low gear (using the large sprocket of the cassette for most leverage) and the cranks are revolved forward to turn the cassette relative to the lockring thus unscrewing the lockring.

Installs the lockring just as easily! Just rotate the tool until the pin engages against the chainstay or the other side of the dropout.

Works on Frames with standard 10 mm quick release or 12 mm thru axles. It is best used on frames which will provide a solid surface for the pin to react against such as a steel or aluminum dropout as shown in the images. Frames which do not provide a  reacting point within 7 mm of the inside surface are best not used with this tool such as some carbon fiber frame dropouts. If you have question about using the tool on your particular application, please contact us.

The latest version fits all Shimano and SRAM cassette lockrings including the SRAM XD cassettes with the 10 tooth cog as well as Campagnolo cassettes.

The tool is made from billet stainless steel for strength and durability. It looks so great it could even be used as jewelry!
