Arranged by William Herwig - Governor Aiken's March for the Piano Forte - A. Fiot, 1845 - First Edition / First Printing

A disbound example which is soiled with light foxing, a scattering of small stains, and a stamp from the music store which sold this when it was new (store location was Charleston). 5 numbered pages. Measures 13.25 x 10. An extremely scarce example of this first edition/printing. An important piece of South Carolina's Antebellum history which is seldom seen. Published in the middle of William Aiken Jr's term (1844-1846) as South Carolina's governor. OCLC only locates one copy at the University of Michigan and we were additionally able to locate one copy at the Library of Congress, which in all reality, is not in as nice condition.
