How to Care for Copper
Copper oxidizes when exposed to air and turns a patina green which can leave a stain on the skin. A protective coating has been applied to help prevent this from happening. Because some people have more acid in their system, this coating may wear off quickly. Others can wear it for a long time with no cleaning or polishing required.
If the copper tarnishes, we recommend first cleaning it with a jewelry cleaning cloth. Next apply an acrylic spray sealant which is available inexpensively from most hardware stores.
Storing your copper jewelry in a sealed zip plastic bag when not being worn will also retard oxidization. An anti-tarnish carbon strip can also help to prevent oxidization and will protect the copper bracelet from other elements in the air.
