Fine Victorian Era Silverplate Tray
Figural cupids appear to be laboring to support handles
Unusual engravings depicting a house scene & geometrical design on left
Right half shows a parlor room with easel & painting of woman (worn)
The perimeter rim is a pattern of various fans & palettes
At first glance this would appear to be the work of James Tufts
Marked: Boston Plate Co, Triple Plate, 1317
Not much info about company
I suspect it dates to around 1880
Tray measures 24-3/4" long, 19-1/4" wide, 7/8" deep
Cupids stand 2-5/8" high on rim
Heavy at 10 pounds, 12 ounces
Overall very good condition:
Wear to woman's picture
Otherwise minor plate wear, some pits & scratches
Minor bending to perimeter rim, areas of tarnish
