BOCCOLI, WALTHAM 29---A variety prized for its lovely dark blue-green heads and marvelous flavor.


Known for producing large heads and long stalks, this longtime favorite is excellent for cooking fresh or freezing. The 4-6" dark blue-green heads are arrayed with side shoots. Developed to withstand cold, it performs outstandingly in the fall.

DI CICCO BROCCOLI---45 days. An Italian classic, 'Di Cicco' is a superb variety, producing numerous, small to medium-

sized heads well into the summer for more delicious broccoli more often! We recommend harvesting the main head when it is 3" in diameter; this will encourage side shoots. 'Di Cicco' is a good freezer variety; leaves are also edible, cooked like chard. Seeds are excellent for sprouting! Pinching is recommended to encourage development of side shoots.

SPINACH, GIANT NOBLE---Heirloom 1926 Also known as Long Standing Gaudry. According to James Vicks Seeds 1936 catalog, “grows about ten inches high. Large deep green leaves, thick and tender, with rounded tips. A good sort for the home garden.”
PREMIER KALE---Premier Kale is a flavorful variety with dark green, smooth leaves and scalloped edges. Extremely high in antioxidants and beta carotene. A cold-hardy variety. Perfect for salads, soups and stews.

CAULIFLOWER, SNOWBALL Y---Snowball cauliflower is not only an excellent source of fiber and vitamins, but it is a garden staple as well. CUCUMBER, BOSTON PICKLING---55 days. The Boston Pickling cucumber is an early variety of cucumber that is sweet, tender and seedless. The Boston Pickling is large and smooth with a soft outer layer. Since this variety is mature in just fifty two days, a steady harvest can be achieved by planting regularly throughout the season. Originating in 1877, Boston Pickling is the most popular cucumber to be pickled as the name implies. Smooth surfaced, bright-green, 3-inch fruits have black spines and blunt ends. Very high yields. Bears continually if kept picked.


CUCUMBER, STRAIGHT 8---58 days. The Straight Eight cucumber is an early variety of cucumber that is sweet and tender. The Straight Eight is large with a small seed cavity. CUCUMBER, MARKETMORE 76---67 days. The Marketmore 76 cucumber is a variety of cucumber that is sweet and tender. HOT PEPPER, TABASCO---90 days. Tabasco pepper seeds. Named after the area of it's origin in south-east Mexico, it is most famous for the sauce for which it has been widely grown for since as early as 1850. The fruits turn from a pale yellow to orange to red as they mature. The compact bush grows up to 4 feet tall and can bear up to 100, upward pointing peppers reaching 1 1/2 inches long. Scoville units: 30,000 - 50,000.


SWEET PEPPER, YOLO WONDER L---75 days. Sweet Pepper Seeds. Large, 4 1/2 by 4 inch, three to four-lobed, glossy peppers on large, sturdy plants. Good foliage cover. An improved California Wonder. Resistant to Tobacco Mosaic Virus.


TOMATO, ACE 55---Grown for it’s perfect shape, the Ace 55 tomato is one of the most perfectly shaped tomatoes that is also an heirloom. The production is reliable and the size is consistent because when the tomato was bred, it was bred for packing in containers, and for supermarkets consistency was needed. WINTER SQUASH, JUMBO PINK BANANA---Large, pink, banana-shaped fruit variety that is over 100 years old. Great for all around kitchen use, from pies, baking, canning, and homemade baby food. SUMMER SQUASH, YELLOW CROOKNECK---55 days. Bumpy, yellow, meaty fruits are 5 to 6 inches long. Slender curved neck. Holds and ships well. Excellent eating quality. Continuous yield. Big winner at Jamestown with the pilgrims. 


CORN, GOLDEN BANTAM 12---82 days. This variety of Golden Bantam has 12 rows instead of the original 8, so improved, still open pollinated, non gmo, non hybrid. Seed from this corn variety should be saved after harvest for planting in subsequent years. Simply let 1-2 ears dry out on the stalk. This hardy variety has 5 to 6 inch ears of good quality for an open pollinated sweet corn. Equally suited for freezing and fresh-eating. The Golden Bantam variety of corn seeds were developed to be earlier and sweeter than other types of corn, and became well known for its vibrant, golden color. The stalks provide five to six inch long ears, and can tolerate dry temps.


GREEN BEAN CONTENDER---49 days. A great bush bean or gardeners in northern climates or for those who can't wait for the start of fresh green bean season. Contender starts producing nearly a week ahead of most bean varieties, awesome! Plants bear plenty of 6-8 inch long pods that cook up tender and with a good green bean flavor, you know what I mean. This variety also freezes and cans with no loss of quality. 

  • Because it requires such a short season, contender is also an excellent choice for the fall garden. Exhibits good disease and heat tolerance. bush plants have an upright form and require no staking. Performs best when planted in full sun and well drained soil.


BUSH BEAN, BLUE LAKE 274---50-70 days. Annual. Blue Lake 274 Bush Bean seeds, Plump, tender pods 5 to 6" long, with white seeds. Blue Lake 274 is an all-time favorite bean that's nearly fiber-free, produces prolifically over a long season and has excellent flavor, fresh or frozen. A heavy producer over a long season, it's excellent fresh or frozen. Plants yield early and need no support. Our seed is not treated. 

  • Also known as string beans or snap peas, are one of the most common garden vegetables grown. They are quick to sprout and poke through the soil; these string beans can be harvested as soon as just fifty days after the seeds have been sown! This variety grows in the shape of a bush, and therefore does not need a pole or support. Because green beans are annual, you can simply pull the root from the ground when it’s time to pick them.

Chioggia beet originated in the historic fishing town of Chioggia, Italy, just across the lagoon from Venice. Dubbed “Little Venice” for its canals and ancient charm, local Venetians know that Chioggia is the town to visit for authentic family-style food. It also has a reputation among Italians for retaining food traditions and quality cuisine. Chioggia beet was first mentioned by legendary French seedhouse Vilmorin, in 1840.


SUMMER SQUASH GOLDEN ZUCCHINI---57 days. Golden zucchini was introduced in the 1973 by the W. Atlee Burppee 

seed company. Golden Zucchini is a compact 3-4' tall bush type plant that is perfect for those with limited space in their gardens. It is a prolific producer of dazzling gold zucchinis that can grow over 10", but are tastiest when eaten at this size or smaller, 4-6" recommended. Continuous harvesting also encourages more fruit to grow. Excellent flavor, fruit is creamy white inside.

  • Summer squash is one of the oldest known crops-it was found in 10,000 year old archaeological sites in Mexico. Its cultivation in the southern and eastern US and some highlands of central america dates back to at least 2700 BC.

SUMMER SQUASH GREY ZUCCHINI---47 days. A smaller sized, heat-resistant zucchini squash that possesses a delicious flavor, that has been a favorite of home gardeners since the 1950's. Tends to produce a high yield of zucchini in the 6-inch range. You can plant grey zucchini just about anywhere, but this variety tends to thrive in the arid parts of the southwestern US and Mexico. I believe this variety originated in Mexico and is used prolifically in authentic Mexican cuisine. 


HEARTS OF GOLD CANTALOUPE---85 days. An orange fleshed muskmelon dating back to around 1890. Quality 2-3 lb. netted fruit with firm, sweet, tasty flesh; one of the first “modern type” melons., sweeeeeeeeeet!!!!!!
