ENTRY LEVEL -  REGULAR SOLE HOOF BOOTS

Now offering you the world’s most affordable hoof boot – The Cavallo ELB Regular Sole Hoof Boot. For those still “nervous” about making the shift to becoming ‘barefoot and booted’, and those who are already barefoot but require protection only on limited occasions, the Entry Level Boot is the perfect solution. The ELB is also ideal for rehabilitation and therapeutic purposes, and it makes an excellent ‘spare tire’ for a lost shoe.

The ELB upper material is our 1680 count Denier industrial grade nylon – the same material used on our Sport style hoof boots, which have been ‘tried and tested’ in all terrains since 2008. The replaceable Velcro closure extends the working life of the ELB in the event of Velcro fatigue. Easily fastened by 8 and 80 year-olds alike, the strap does not require a screwdriver, extra physical strength or any other tools. The ELB is offered on both Cavallo’s soles – our Regular Sole, (length and width equal) and our Slim Sole ( width is ¼” or 5mm narrower than length). Both soles incorporate the unique, built in side drainage slots – which drain mud, water and sand easily and will not clog up.

A bit about barefoot horse riding

Barefoot Horse Riding

Many of us are happy to allow our horses to ‘go barefoot’. We see the benefits of a more natural program. We don’t like pounding nails into the hoof every 6 weeks. Shoeing is expensive and good farriers are hard to find. If we consider pulling the shoes, our horses may seem sore. Maybe you have even tried it and ended up putting the shoes back on.There are many factors that contribute to the long-term success of a barefoot program and it is very different than traditional shoeing. When a farrier comes, he trims your horse flat and level, even and balanced. He removes some dead tissue and makes the hoof look neat and tidy. His job is to make sure the shoe goes on securely and shapes to the trim he’s done, leaving the metal shoe as the only part making contact with the ground. Do you think this metal shoe absorbs the shock and concussion of 1000 pounds in motion? Do you think that the hoof is functioning as it should? Do you think blood is circulating freely? The answers are – not a chance!

Barefoot Horse – Trims

Let’s talk about what happens when we don’t put the shoes on. Proportionately, as a truly miraculous structure the small hoof supports the weight of a large horse. The walls expand and widen apart to draw the sole flat. When the sole levels downward towards the ground the bone column can easily move down. The coffin bone acts as a trampoline to absorb the descending structure. The frogs help the heels expand and in so doing, blood circulates freely carrying nutrients to the entire apparatus. Shock is absorbed properly. Tissue is nourished and the whole horse benefits because his most primary survival flight mode is not compromised through an archaic and unnecessary practice, which not only renders hoof function non-existent but exerts upward pressure to the entire internal structure. To achieve what we call proper hoof mechanism, some of your considerations should be:

  • Frequent barefoot trims tailored for your horse
  • Adequate movement & exercise
  • Proper hoof hydration
  • Counter effect of hard ground
  • Stimulation of aggressive terrain
  • Normal herd life with friends and socialization

GETTING YOUR SIZE RIGHT!

Please view the Size Chart for the Brand of boots you are purchasing in the Listing Images.

All Of The Footwear We Sell Is (Australian) UK/AU Sizing. Which Is The Same As UK Sizing. So, for example if you know your Men's US Size, compare it to the UK/AU Size in the Chart . . . and that's the size you order.

Please know that the size chart supplied is to help you confirm your size. The Boot Warehouse cannot be held responsible for incorrect size selection

Whenever buying footwear online it is important to have a very good understanding of your own shoe size for the country where you live. If you know your size in either UK, US, EU or (Australian) AUS/UK Sizing, then you should have no problems ordering your correct size.

MEASURING YOUR FEET

If you are unsure of the Size you normally wear in any of those 'Sizing Types', then measuring your feet length will provide a guide as to what size footwear you need to order.

Following the simple guide below, measure 'both feet'. You will most likely find one foot is slightly longer than the other, which is quite normal. Then find your boot size on the Oliver Size Chart by comparing your foot measurement.

Please be aware that all boot and shoe manufacturer sizes vary slightly, and sometimes even vary between styles from the same manufacturer. So using this information is not foolproof and should be used as a guide only.

1. You'll Need A Large Piece Of Paper.

2. Stand With Your Heel Against A Flat Wall

3. Mark The Longest Distance From Your Heel To The Tip Of Your Toe. - Then Measure It

MEASURING TIPS

  • Always do both feet as quite often one foot is slightly longer than the other. (Use the longest measurement)
  • Always measure with socks or stockings on if shoes or boots are to be worn with them.
  • If the measuring result you get is 'in between' - go up a size.
  • If your feet have an unusually high instep or you have wider than normal feet, take the time to send us a message via 'contact the seller' before placing your order. We will be able to provide more information and advise you of alternatives.

If you still get it wrong, don't worry. We will always exchange for your correct size. However a few extra minutes spent checking now (and then double checking!), could save you delays, unwanted postage costs, and frustration later in.

FINALLY, SOMETHING YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT HALF SIZES

All Australian Boot Manufacturers produce their 'half size' boots at exactly the same length as the preceding 'full size'. As an example, a Size 9.5 boot is the same size in length as a Size 9 boot - The difference is in the girth (the width across the forefoot), which in the half sizes, is manufactured several mm wider than the preceding full size. So the half sizes 'feel' bigger, and are recommended for people with wider feet.

Payment The Boot Warehouse offers the following payment methods.

2. Credit cards including Visa, Master Card and American express. Credit Card Payments can also be made through Paypal.
