Bill Wilson Co-Founder of Alcoholics Anonymous
TWO TALKS at his 23rd SOBRIETY ANNIVERSARY

Two very different AA Talks by Bill W.
The Afternoon talk for New York City AA Intergroup is about the structures and functions of Alcoholics Anonymous Service. It ends with an incredible explanation by Bill of the issue of addictions other than alcohol. First he talks about AA helping members(alcoholics) who struggle with additional addictions; then he describes how AA Groups can help addicts who do not have alcoholism. The role of group conscience in setting the limits of participation by non alcoholic addicts. Bills depth of understanding of AA Tradition, compassion for addicts and common sense are articulated in this talk.
The Anniversary Talk at the annual banquet. Bill tells his story and the Story of Alcoholics Anonymous. Ebby speaks briefly at one point. Bill talks about how Doctor Silkworth worked with him during the last few years of his drinking. He tells the story of Lois being told about Bills hopeless condition. Following this he talks about Ebby, the Oxford Group, Rowland Hazard, Dr Bob and Bill Dotson. He closes talking and the Big Book and the Twelves Steps. In summary this talk is almost entirely about events from 1934 - 1939.
