Antique "Twinplex" Mechanical Razor Stropper Patent May 31, 1910
This is an interesting and unique mechanical razor stropper. Even for those who are not antique razor enthusiasts, this is a great "knick knack" conversation piece. Based on the information below, from Badger and Blade, I would guess that this is one of the "early model" Twinplex" stroppers. The later models seem to be in a more rounded covered case with a hand crank.
The bottom of the stropper reads, "Twin plex Manufacturing Company, St.Louis, MO, PAT May 31 - 1910, U.S.A, Foreign Patents Issued or Pending"
On the front and back of the unit, it reads Twinplex Two Edges at Once".
I am not certain that all of the parts normally associated with this stropper are present/working. When I purchased the item, the small part that looks like a "needle"
came with it, though I am not positive it belongs with it. Some of the metal portions on the side may be broken or missing.

Twinplex Stamping Company, incorporated in 1941, is a fourth generation family owned manufacturing company. The first product produced was the Twinplex Razor Stropper invented by George Floyd, patent #959496 in 1910. Razor stroppers were used to sharpen double-edged safety razor blades to extend their useful life. Twinplex produced razor stroppers from 1905 until 1955 and expanded sales into multiple stropper types and other shaving related products including shaving razors, brushes, blades and cream.
Over time as Stropper sales declined Twinplex discontinued producing Stroppers in the late 1950s and diversified exclusively into contract stamping opportunities involving metal stampings and drawn metal applications.
