This is one of the oldest opium weights I own. It is an authentic handmade 17th Century Bronze Opium Weight in traditional turtle design. Opium Weights like this were used throughout the Golden Triangle region for centuries. Nowadays, however, unusual old weights like these are increasingly difficult to find and procure. This piece is made of high-quality bronze and displays exceptional craftsmanship. I got this piece during a trip to the Golden Triangle region. I included information about turtle symbolism below.
