VINTAGE READING HARDWARE #0947 (also #1347) PUSH BUTTON ENTRY MORTISE LOCK w/KEY 6 1/8" FACEPLATE (11816)

Vintage, circa 1900, carried in the RHC 1897 catalog (see pic): READING HARDWARE CO mortise lock.  Push button with key, entry mortise has been cleaned and restored. Carries two ID numbers from RHC as it was made during the transitional period of the catalog.  While the lock stayed the same the number changed from 1347 to 0947. 

FACEPLATE:  Mortise lock has a brass face plate with a length of 6 1/8" and a width of 1 1/16" and thickness of 1/8". 

BACKSET:  Backset (the distance back from the front edge of the brass faceplate to the center of the knob post hole) is 2 5/8".

DROP: The drop, (the distance from the center of the knob post hole to the center of the round portion at the top of the key hole) is 2 3/8".

KNOBPOST:  The lock accommodates a standard 5/16" split knob post.

BOX: The mortise box itself is 3 1/2" deep from the front edge of the faceplate to the back of the box.  It is 4 1/8" high, 5/8" thick.

The lock is reversible.  The lock comes with the key.
