Important: Thuraya does not offer global coverage so please ensure that the region you wish to use the network in is available on the coverage map. You will be unable to use any Thuraya equipment including handsets and/or airtime to connect to the network when outside of the Thuraya satellite footprint area. This includes North and South America.

Activation of airtime must take place within 6 months of purchase.

Airtime Information

A premium rate is charged to territories outside of Nova countries. SIM cards are valid for 24 months and can be extended by adding pre-paid airtime vouchers. View our website for information on NOVA countries.

Calls made within the Thuraya NOVA zone are charged at 0.90 units per minute to a landline or mobile number and calls made outside the NOVA zone are charged at 1.85 units per minute. Calls made to other satellite networks are charged at up to 10 units per minute.

SIM card will be sent inactive. Please contact GTC to activate your SIM upon receipt of your order. Validity will start from the point of activation.

This SIM contains 10 units of airtime. Upon activation of your SIM a PIN will be provided to add the remaining units advertised. Calls made within the Thuraya NOVA zone are charged at 0.90 units per minute to a landline or mobile number. Calls made outside the NOVA zone are charged at 1.85 units per minute. Additional credit can be added to this SIM at any time.

Terms & Conditions: Thuraya NOVA SIM

First call must be made within 12 months, SIM is deactivated if the first call is not made within 365 days from the date of activation.

The Thuraya NOVA SIM has an initial validity of one year from first call.

Renewal Fee

The Thuraya NOVA Renewal Fee is now 39 Units, like the Thuraya Standard SIM Renewal Fee. This is automatically deducted from your balance on the renewal date every year.

If your SIM card does not have the required 39 units for the SIM renewal, then it will fall into a 3-month grace period whereby you will need to add enough credit to cover the renewal charge of 39 units. To avoid deactivation, airtime must be added. If the SIM card becomes deactivated, please note that if you wish to reactivate your SIM card there is a fee.

If the account is NOT refilled within the grace period, the entire unused balance will be reset to zero on your Thuraya SIM and the account will be permanently deactivated.

Please note that upon requesting activation of your prepaid airtime you are agreeing that we can start providing your network services before the end of the usual statutory cancellation period and that by doing so, you lose your right to cancel your purchase of the prepaid airtime or request a refund. As a result, please check that you have ordered the correct airtime for your handset or terminal. Please refer to our terms and conditions for full information. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Thuraya Standard SIM Card

Terms & Conditions: Standard SIM

First call must be made within 6 months, SIM is deactivated if the first call is not made within 180 days from the date of activation.

Thuraya PREPAY plan has a validity of one year from first call.

Annual Renewal Fee: $39.00 (39 Units deducted automatically from balance on renewal date)

Annual renewal fee is waived for heavy users (over $1500 of satellite calls per year).

Upon expiry, account balance is reset to zero and the account enters the 90-day grace period (Incoming calls are still possible).

If account is not refilled within the grace period, it will be deactivated and the number will be lost.

If the account is NOT refilled within the grace period, the entire unused balance will be reset to zero on your Thuraya SIM and the account will be permanently deactivated. Please note that upon requesting activation of your prepaid airtime you are agreeing that we can start providing your network services before the end of the usual statutory cancellation period and that by doing so, you lose your right to cancel your purchase of the prepaid airtime or request a refund. For deliveries made to addresses within the EU, eBay will remove the VAT included in our advertised price and you will be charged the net amount.
