Here are an assortment of vintage pins with different themes.
1. A cat playing with a ball made out of a10 mm faux pearl. 2 mm clear white rhinestones embedded throughout, with two dark blue (teal shade) 2 mm rhinestones for the eyes. Made of gold and silver tone metal; the tail, paws, collar and ears are gold colored. Measures 2.25" wide and 1 1/8" high.
2. This is a cat face pin with glowing round red rhinestones throughout (2mm, 3mm and 4mm), two 6x4mm white navettes for the eyes and a 4mm round white stone for the nose. All set in black, Japanned-looking metal, with whiskers made of the metal. The diameter measures .75" and the ears are about .25" high, giving this a measurement of 1 1/8" at the widest points. It is domed, so is about 3/8" thick (but hollow-shaped). One of the red rhinestones on the bottom is a little off-center in the setting, but that is how this pin came to me, and it is only noticeable if you are examining the piece closely (underneath the whiskers in picture 5). No signature, although it looks as though there might have been a rectangular place intended for one in the center on the back. It is an older piece.
3. A gold tone metal butterfly pin in mesh/stiff net. There are little 5mm flowers affixed to the top halves of the wings. Measures 2" high x 1 7/8" wide at the widest points. Couple of pinprick dark marks on the bottom halves of the wings, but they are difficult to see.
4. A goldtone metal pin with the words "I (heart) teach" and "I heart reading, 2+2" along with a globe and an apple. Glittery yellow, pink, green and purple. Measures 2.25" x 1.25".
5. A dark silver tone metal school house pin, with the word "School" written across the top of the doorway. I think this is pewter, but I am not one hundred percent sure about it. Signed "Sheridan" in vertical lettering on the back of the pin where the rough part is on the right side in the photos. Measures 2" high x 1.5" wide.
6. A school house pin with the word "School" is engraved over the front door and there is a bell dangling with a tiny clapper (doesn't really ring, so to speak, more like a faint tinkle if you shake it). Stamped "JJ" on the back. Measures 2" high x 1 3/8" wide.
7. A pin in the shape of a basket of flowers. Each flower blossom has a 2mm round white rhinestone in the center. Measures 2" high x 1.5" wide.
8. A red hat pin and pendant with red rhinestones and a "ribbon" of purple rhinestones. Gold tone metal setting and pin stem/clasp; 4 mm bale also, so it can be worn as a pendant. Measures .75" high and 1.5" wide at the widest points. The movement is slightly loose in the pin stems, with a very slight bend in the pin stem, but it closes and fastens correctly.
9. An asymmetrical heart-shaped pin with pink, hot pink, lavender and purple stones, as well as delicately ribbed and shaded pink leaves, all set in gold tone metal. There is also detailing on the back of the leaves, when you look at the underside of the pin. The round stones range in size from 4-8mm. Signed "Austria" on the back. Measures 2.5" x 1 7/8" at the widest points. There is a bend in the pin stem from use.
10. A red pin with 3 and 4mm round red stones and an 8mm round center red AB stone. Signed "Made Austria" on the back. Measures 1.75" x 3/8" at the widest points. A couple of scratches only in the coating on the AB stone (only really visible under a loupe). The pin stem also is dull in color, not as gold as the rest of the gold tone metal.
11. A pin in the shape of a grand piano made of gold tone metal. The piano keys are made of six 2mm round clear white rhinestones in a row. Signed "Gerry's" on the back. Measures 1.25" high and 1 1/8" wide.
12. A gold tone metal matte finish pin with stencil cutout style playing cards and dice and the word "CASINO" dangling beneath. Measures 2 3/8" x 1.75". Card and dice section only is 2 3/8" x 1" and the dangle measures 1 3/8" x 3/8".
13. A red and gold tone metal pin in the shape of a casino slot machine with "TROPWORLD" written at the top. The lever rotates all the way around and there are hearts, circles and triangles which appear in the window when it turns (but not any numbers). Little "gold" coins in the receptacle (the coins are painted yellow). Measures 2.25" x 1.25".
14. A pin with a pair of kissing doves in the center. There are three 2mm round clear white rhinestones as accents. It is quite big: measures 1.75" high x 1.75" wide. There is some wearing and unevenness in the gold color on the left rim of the heart.
15. A lot of three American flag pins: enamel metal lapel pin measuring .75" x 5/8", a rhinestone flag pin measuring 7/8" x 7/8" and a 9/11 pin also 7/8" x 7/8". There are chips to the color in the 9/11 pin.
16. Pewter color basket of flowers lapel pin, signed MC. Measures 1.25".
17.Tailored knot-style goldtone pin, signed Napier on the back with 1.25" diameter.
18. A cat pin with a Christmas bow around its neck. Measures 2" x 1".
19. A dark goldtone butterfly pin with pink and red rhinestones, measuring 1.75" x 1.25". Flawed condition: missing stones on both sides of the outside of the wings. Can still be worn or used for crafts and repairs.
20. Letter "R" pin. Lightweight and chipped, but sizable: measures 2.75" x 1.75".
21. Pink rhinestone rose pin with plastic rhinestones, set in silvertone metal, diameter 1.75".
22. A pin which could be a fun craft project or actually could be worn the way it is because it sparkles this way, too. It is in the shape of the word "Paris" with the Eiffel Tower to the right in gold tone light weight painted plastic. The letters of the word are made up of bezel indents which could accommodate 3mm round rhinestones, if you wanted to glue them all in--you could choose the colors or design. Hook safety pin-style clasp. Measures 3" wide x 1 3/8" high.
