Spanish Art & Crafts Jaume Mercade Queralt 916 Silver 36 Piece Flatware Set

Antique Art & Crafts Jaume Mercade Queralt Solid .916 Silver Hand Made 36 Piece Flatware Set that serves 6.  The set is not complete for it is missing its dinner knives. It is in excellent condition, just perfect with a lovely patina. The entire set is hand wrought.

The set is hand made by the studio of Jaume Mercade Queralt (1887 - 1967). Mercade was a painter, jeweler and silversmith who from 1919 taught gold and silver making at the School of Arts & Crafts in Bracelona Spain. While one can occasionally find his original jewelry and paintings on the market his silverware and hollowware is excessively rare and usually only found in museums.

This set is hallmarked with Spains Post 1934 silver hallmarks of a five pointed star. It is also hallmarked Mercade and his government registered code 48 B inside of a hexagon.

The set consists of the following pieces:

6 - Dinner Forks at 7.45" long

6 - Teaspoons at 5.75"

6 - Individual Butter Knives at 4.9"

6 - Soup Spoons at 5.6"

6 - Salad / Desert Forks at 6.25"

6 - Tablespoons at 7.4"

The entire set is solid .916 silver and weighs a total of 45.4 Troy Oz
