Wes Humpston started drawing at a young age, creating his own adaptations of Zap comix and Creepy Mag caricatures. He also started skateboarding around this time. Wes had a knack for creating, and around 1974 he started making his own wooden skateboards out of any kind of wood he could get his hands on. It wasn't until he linked up with Jim Muir that Dog Town Skates was born. With his style Wes not only made a name for himself for coming up with the first wide boards, but with his unique illustrations.
