"Festival of Britain. Daily Mail Publication. Preview and Guide. 80 Pages."
A genuine newspaper supplement published in 1951 for the opening of the Festival of Britain. This was in part a celebration of 100 years since the 1851 Great Exhibition (see article inside), and also a boost for industry etc. in the difficult post-war years. One of the long term buildings that is still in place is the Festival Hall on the South Bank, but, as in the year 2000, there was also a Dome, etc.

This is all documented in some detail in this supplement. The map and design in the middle was thought worthy of a place in the Exhibition in London Dec/Jan 2006/7 "London: A Life in Maps." Ranging from history to life in Britain, through fashion, sport, and of course industry and design, this is an important document of life in the early 1950s.

Size: approx. 38cms x 30cms.
Condition: Inevitably a bit grubby, the covers browned and a little torn at the edges, and all with a bit of wear. But nothing too awful - an excellent record of an important event.

£4.00 postage within the UK. £8.00 to Europe, £12.00 to USA etc.
