The Intel Core i7-4700MQ is a high-end quad-core processor for laptops. It is based on the Haswell architecture and manufactured in 22nm. Due to Hyperthreading, the four cores can handle up to eight threads in parallel leading to better utilization of the CPU. Each core offers a base speed of 2.4 GHz but can dynamically increase clock rates with Turbo Boost up to 3.2 GHz (for 4 active cores), 3.3 GHz (for 2 active cores) and 3.4 GHz (for 1 active core).
The operating system is a fresh install of Windows 10 Home 64-bit. Windows 10 is fully activated from Microsoft. This unit originally shipped with Windows 8, so it was eligible for the free Windows 10 upgrade. The system was wiped, and Windows 10 was installed fresh and activated. This is the best way to ensure a clean running operating system. The original Windows 8 sticker is applied to the back of the laptop (actual license key is stored in the system BIOS and is automatically linked to the system OS at install) All device drivers are installed and working. No antivirus or other software is installed. These are great units for fast, portable enthusiast computing. Lots of great options here!

This unit is wi-fi internet ready and in great working condition. The top cover has a nice black, brushed metal finish. There is some light scuffing in areas on the top cover. I have tried to show some of the scuffs in the pictures, but they are very light and difficult to see. I would consider this laptop as in “Grade A+” cosmetic condition. To me, the laptop in this auction is in wonderful overall shape, but please see the pictures because it is being sold “as-is.” The screen is big, beautiful, bright, crisp and clear with no dead pixels evident and the keyboard lettering etc. looks perfect! The keyboard is in great shape with no “shininess” to the keys. The keyboard backlight feature works perfectly. The touchpad area is very clean and works great. There are no cracks anywhere around the casing. Again, there are just some very light scuffs/scratches on the top cover that I can see. This laptop is in excellent working condition and great cosmetic condition. However, it is used, so there may be other light wear from normal use that does not affect the functionality of the laptop.
A new 4 cell replacement battery is included. It is also in excellent condition, but also sold “as is.” (battery has been tested to hold a charge and reports a runtime of 5+ hours at idle (that’s probably a high estimate). There is no guarantee on the performance or function of the battery.) This laptop is designed for performance, and has a large and bright screen. As such, it will probably use battery power relatively quickly. That’s the trade-off for the high performance hardware. All in all, this is a fantastic laptop and a great value.
