The obverse of the coin is a depiction of the wreck of the ship in an antique finish. At the top is the inscription 'The RMS TITANIC sank on her maiden voyage after striking an iceberg on April 14, 1912 - The wreck of RMS TITANIC was designated an International Maritime Memorial on October 21, 1986'. At the bottom of the obverse, a small coin representing the coat of arms of Benin and the inscriptions 'Republic of Benin' - the country of issue and '10,000 CFA francs' - the face value. The reverse features the same depiction of the wreck of the Titanic but this time the dark blue 'enamel' finish is designed to simulate the appearance of being in the deep sea. At the top of the coin are the inscriptions: 'Titanic Wreck' - the name of the coin and 'World Heritage'. At the bottom of the reverse, the inscriptions: “2016” – the year of issue and “1 Kg 999 Ag” – the weight and fineness of the silver.
