Movie Description
Marina (Demi Moore) is a romantic smalltown psychic who believes her true love will come from the sea. She believes him to be the first man that she sees ashore--butcher Leo (George Dzundza)--and sets off for New York with him. When she arrives in the city, she begins to use her psychic abilities on the neighborhood, which upsets the local psychiatrist (Jeff Daniels), whose patients begin to use Marina's services more than his. Slowy, as she gets to know her neighbors, she begins to realize that she may have been wrong about her true love.

Synopsis
A sweet-natured country girl with clairvoyant powers travels to the big city when she marries an amorous butcher who visited her fair glen on a fishing trip. Once ensconced in her Greenwich Village apartment, the butcher's wife starts making predictions of future romance for several of her newfound friends. The predictions do come true, but our heroine begins to doubt her powers of extrasensory perception when she realizes that she may be falling in love with a skeptical local psychiatrist -- a turn of events that she certainly didn't foretell.
