Jamaica's National Bird adorns this exquisitely beautiful and extremely limited edition MINT condition ORIGINAL Fillmore poster. It is 19 3/8" x 13" and was for a pair of the most spectacular performances ever at the Geary Street San Francisco landmark. The Midnight Dread Sound System also appeared. The Doctor Bird or Swallowtail Hummingbird lives only in Jamaica and is one of the most outstanding of the 320 species of hummingbirds. The beautiful feathers of this bird have no counterpart in the entire bird population and produce iridescent colors characteristic only of that family. The Doctor Bird has been immortalized for many decades in Jamaican folklore and song.

Jimmy performed for nearly 3 hours each night. I have never seen a more comprehensive show in reggae from ska to rock steady, and niyabingi to rockers, as Cliff proved himself to have endurance like Bruce Springsteen with these stunning marathon concerts. The crowds were transfixed and overwhelmed. The poster was only distributed to a few hundred patrons after the shows ended. The concert took place in 1988, just about one year before the Loma Prieta earthquake shut down the legendary San Francisco musical auditorium for years of retrofitting. BGP's (Bill Graham Presents) second run at The Fillmore was short but filled with more worldly music than the first run in the 60s ever aspired to. Great venue, great show, fantastic poster; The Fillmore.
