Ends of D & G strings are knotted then swaged with a stop sleeve(metal cylinder pinched on tightly),
E and A are knotted -this keeps the strings from pulling thru the tailpiece,
and each string is fitted with an E, A, D or G label.
No need for a felt pad as there is NEVER any vibration caused in the tailpiece from them.
