VirescoTM Aqua - Microbial Pond Treatment for Blanketweed and Algae


VirescoTM Aqua was introduced in autumn 1997. This product was originally formulated for use on commercial fish farms to improve the growth and health of the fish. It was a bonus that it turned out to suppress algae as well! VirescoTM Aqua contains 50% of a microbial mixture that removes nitrate and reduces phosphate. These nutrients are the main food source for algae. Once the nitrate drops to zero, the algae dies of starvation. The nitrate level will remain at zero, usually for many weeks and, for some, many months. The other 50% of the VirescoTM Aqua mixture is an organic waste digester which will eliminate pond detritus.

Viresco Aqua is chemical free and harmless to plants and wildlife.  This 25g pack will treat 15000 gallons (68000 litres) of pond water. It will keep indefinitely in the sealed bag in a cool place.

Several eBay customers have asked how long Viresco Aqua takes to work. Many customers see blanketweed dying back within 7-10 days, but it can take up to 4 or 5 weeks. A further dose can speed up the process but is not usually necessary for the product to work.
