Description

- This listing is for a Shriners convention glass goblet with highly detailed graphics, with hand-painted colors, gold and silver trim, and a clear base that was created by the Syria Temple of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

- Five Shriner glasses have been listed (1898, 1904, 1909, 1910 and 1911) - buy more than one glass and save on shipping.

According to online info - Each year the Syria Temple produced a glass to commemorate the Imperial Shrine Session that they were to attend. In the later years, Syria Temple commissioned the Westmoreland Glass Co. and United States Glass Co. to produce a different glass each year with a theme suited to the city that they were visiting. The glasses made prior to 1900 were made in fewer numbers and also individually hand-blown instead of molded. They were thin walled and very delicate and didn't stand the test of time very well.
