This Rare Gorgeous Roman Mosaic Millefiori Patella Cup Bowl was made using the laborious and time-consuming composition-cast mosaic glass technique.

The millefiori eye ball pattern was assembled from cane sections designed with a subtle flare rim onto the out-splayed applied base ring. The deep reddish brownish purplish glass background with millefiore mosaic ornament of white, yellowish orange, green, blue black, royal blue and red irregular concentric cellular shapes.

Condition: Absolutely amazing condition considering its age. WOW! Please Examine Photos Carefully for condition. Appears to be in excellent condition (only with loupe magnification there are some extremely thin fracture-like lines which is expected in ancient glass). No apparent chips. No apparent repairs.
