Meriden Silverplate Co. Quadruple Plated 9 Qt. Tilting Ice Water Pitcher with Stand. This pitcher holds 9 quarts to the rim, and is a pot-within-a-pot design, to keep the contents insulated, and to prevent excessive sweating of the outside pot. The outer pot has a drain hole in the bottom (see photo #10) to drain any water that condenses in the space between the pots. The base has a basin (see photo #2) to hold any drained condensate. The stand has an embossed pheasant design. The pitcher is easily detached from the base for cleaning or polishing.
