The seeds will be delivered in small brown packets within an envelope, they are labelled and addressed by hand. Growing instructions are not provided but can be found on the listing page assuming you have some basic prior knowledge, more detailed germination and propagation advice can easily be found on the internet or in books. The seeds are from the same or the previous season. Most vegetables are organically grown and, if correctly stored, will be viable until the following year at least. If you are unfamiliar with a plant please research the product thoroughly before you purchase to make sure the seeds and plants are suitable for your horticultural knowledge, your soil and your growing conditions.

Self-seeding hardy annual / half-hardy perennial


Large golden orange-yellow velvety petals with dark chocolate centres. An easy plant to grow, very long lasting, early summer and throughout autumn until first frosts. Long lasting as a cut flower. Commonly known as Gloriosa daisies. Look fabulous in the border and happy in a large pot. Approximately 5" across sometimes up to 7". 


Sowing advice:

Sow indoors Feb, March, April, onto moist well-drained seed compost. 

Sow outdoors where to flower April, May, June.

Cover with a fine layer of vermiculite. 

Propagate +20ºC. 

Keep moist but not wet, do not allow to dry out.

Germination takes 10-15 days.

If nothing appears, cold stratify, move to -4ºC - +4ºC for 4 weeks then return to warmth.

Transplant into 8cm pots when large enough to handle. 

Grow on in cooler conditions.

Acclimatise (out by day, in by night) for a week or so .

Plant out 45cm apart after all danger of frost has passed.


Tips: 

Prefers a moist well-drained soil in full sun.

Do not allow soil to dry out. 

Mulch if soil is prone to drying out.

Deadhead to prolong flowering season.
