Region Codes restrict which DVD's can be played in your unit. The code of your unit must match the disc code. 

Fortuantely; there is a way to change the code of your Onkyo DV-SP406. 

Power on your machine.

Insert this CD.

Wait for a blue service screen to appear. 

Press '0'. 

Press 'pause' to save and exit.

Your DV-SP406 now has a region code for every DVD in the world and will play anything.
