65-73 Mustang & Cougar 11.65" COBRA REAR DISC BRAKE CONVERSION

Fits Original V8 rear ends 

• 8" (also fits smaller Mustang II 8" rear axle) with 2.836 bearing and 3/8" bearing retainer bolts 3.375x2.00 pattern
• 9" with small 2.836 bearing and 3/8" bearing retainer bolts 3.375x2.00 pattern.

The MustangSteve bracket has an integral machined bearing retainer so you don't have to go fabricate something else to hold the bearing in the axle.  Watch out for those cheap imitations!  My parts are always complete so you don't get stuck with something that does not work.

This retrofit kit, as with other MustangSteve products, uses easily replaceable and obtainable FORD parts for anything that could ever wear out. A BIG PLUS if you ever need a brake part in a hurry!

Replaces the axle bearing retainer flange with the new main bracket

Caliper bracket bolts to main bracket with Grade 8 hardware

Track width stays as stock

• Requires 16" or 17" wheels, 17" preferred. Wheel must clear stock Cobra brake setup as these duplicate the dimensions exactly of a 94-04 Cobra.  SOME 15" wheels will clear the COBRA REAR brakes, but fronts require 17".
• Don't want late model Ford factory wheels? This design lets you have the COBRA BRAKES and run many different aftermarket wheels, if they have the correct backspacing and will clear the caliper.
• NO WHEEL SPACER REQUIRED, at all! Of course, the late model 17x8 Mustang wheels will fit as well using a billet aluminum 1" spacer. (The deeper offset of the 94-04 Mustang wheel requires the spacer, NOT the brake setup)
• PURCHASER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR DETERMINING WHEEL FITMENT FOR YOUR VEHICLE!!!!!!!!!!
• The COBRA caliper is mounted in exactly the same position as the Ford Mustang Cobra caliper, avoiding rotating the caliper to a different position and causing possible air entrapment bleeding issues.
• Wheel bearing replacement is required when installing these conversion brackets.

Uses 94-98 Mustang emergency brake cables (not included) easy to hook up.  Cables available - ask.

·       Rear Calipers from 94-2004 Cobra Mustang (COBRA are direct fit, GT or V6 require widening of the slot where they fit over the rotor)

·       Rotors from 94-2004 Cobra

·       Hoses from 77-80 Versailles or 94-98 Cobra

·       Shorten rear hard lines

·       Bolt or muffler clamp around axle for hose/hard line mount point 

·       E-brake cables from 94-2004 Mustang or from MustangSteve

International shipments will be actual shipping cost, based on MEDIUM FLAT RATE BOX w/ max weight of 20 pounds (2 sets of brackets).
