Super Rare Vintage Burmese Maw Sit Sit Buddha Pendant 18k Gold.

The pendant is in the shape of a butterfly with a center carved seated Guanyin or Buddha of Compassion. It is mounted on top with 18k yellow gold as marked on the bale.

Stone Size: Approx. 7cm length x 4.5cm tall
Weight: Approx 39.1 grams including the gold or 195 gross carat weight

Condition: Good. No damage. Normal wear and tear. Natural line inclusion at the back

This is a very scarce and rare rock similar to jade called Maw Sit Sit found only in Burma or Myanmar. It was discovered in the 1960's by a Dutch Geologist in the village of Maw Sit Sit hence the name. Deposit is small and has now been exhausted.

The look is very similar to Jade but its not jade but a rock since the chemical composition is only 60% similar to jade. A rare one of a kind piece!
